CHARACTER INFO:
Name: Thomas Orosco
Fandom: Silent Hill (2)

Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance: 6'2", very muscular build due to his old job as a lumberjack and an older tendency to relieve internal stress with external violence. Features are the very common brown eyes, ruddy skin, and dark brown hair, somewhat longer than what would be practical and left largely unattended to.
Personality: Thomas' natural personality is very much based entirely on severe personality flaws and conditions that hint at him suffering from untreated high functioning Autism. His mindset and beliefs in what is right and wrong appear selfish and largely childish, and he is quick to frustrate and quicker to turn to brainless violence when things do not follow what he feels to be absolute truths. Present in all of this is also a desperate need for routine, order, and obsessive ritual in bits and pieces of his day to day life (the urge to repeat certain sounds in words over and over again is one simple example) that are reacted very poorly to if interrupted. Many of these traits are the result of neglect as a child and having the roots of it all - Autism - largely ignored.

ROLEPLAY:
How Your Character Got to Malaise House: Thomas' past includes a long history of sexually abusing his only daughter, Angela, and having so little a sense of what was right and what was wrong that he never understood that what he was doing to her was damaging. To him, it was the only way he knew how to express affection, and whenever anyone lashed out against this form, he would lash back harder with physical violence. Angela could not take the abuse anymore and one evening attacked Thomas, stabbing him all over in the chest and belly with a kitchen knife before fleeing the scene of the crime, leaving her father for dead.
Or so she thought.
When paramedics arrived on the scene, he was found to be clinging to life and was successfully resuscitated and kept alive at the local hospital. With his daughter nowhere to be found, as soon as police began asking questions on motive, her possible location, etc., it quickly became obvious that Angela had a wonderful motive and that Thomas was in severe need of psychiatric help. One embarrassing paperwork mixup later, he was sent to Malaise House of all places as soon as he recovered enough to be moved...
Symptoms Your Character Experiences (If Any): Obsessive compulsive disorder, extremely prone to violence, unable to connect emotionally with those around him, unable to think outside his own mindset.

Your Character's Diagnosis: PDD-NOS, Obsessive-compulsive disorder, Mania
What you know about this disorder and why you think it fits your character: Thomas was born with a mild touch of what seemed to be Autism. This could have been easily handled as a small child, but because of abuse from his father and neglect, the disorder itself spun into levels that were far worse than what could have been had he received proper help in his past. Now, though the root of it all is untreated Autism, part of what is wrong with him heavily includes the desperate need for routine and order, as well as flying into extremely violent, thoughtless rages when he doesn't receive the outcome he wants/when things don't go the way he believes they should - and his beliefs themselves are extremely flawed and based in no sort of reality other than his own. (For instance, he is convinced that it is somehow perfectly appropriate and acceptable to express love to your daughter sexually.)
